Where to Begin

More and more individuals are looking to either make it big on the internet and/or work from home. Or at least change their career to a work at home career. I know what you mean, I have been an Entrepreneur my whole life. I started out as an entrepreneur in my young years. I was about seven years old, going door to door to sell Christmas cards during the holidays. And vegetable seeds for the summer.
I would walk from the Botanical Gardens to Grand Ave. If I remember correctly, that was about 20 blocks one way. So I would walk down one way and back on the opposite side. That's about 8 blocks a mile, total 5 miles per day. At least, some days it was more. Some days I would only get one sale, and other days I would get maybe four or five. And on more days than not, I would do this on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you are in sales, and if you ever did cold calling, door to door, even appointment sales. You know it's all a numbers game. The more calls you make, the more doors you knock on, the more appointments you get. Equals more opportunity to speak with someone. And that is turned into cold hard cash. Yes, my friend, I did say "Cold Hard Cash". But all said and done, to make it you have to be a people person. And you also have to be a people person.
Now we have the internet, and so we want to be able to expand our horizon with working from home and making it on the world wide web. Most of us have a skill we can use. We just never thought we would be able to use that skill. And there are so many avenues of being able to sell your products and or services. Over the next several weeks we will cover real jobs that you can do from the comfort of your own home. So, I want to leave this last thought with you. Think about what your skill is. Is it a service you can provide (example: proofreading & editing) or is it a product you can make ( examples: a small wooden box or quilts)?
So, in deciding what that skill is. First I would find a quiet place where you can think. Get a blank sheet of paper and a pencil with an eraser. Next, complete this exercise. Brainstorm, what's brainstorm you say! Brainstorm is an exercise where you write down all of the things that come to mind on a sheet of paper. Then, once you have that list. Take a look at those skills and decide which skills do you like to use the most. I mean, what is your passion? I've learned that people do better when the skill is a passion of theirs.
